Choosing a program is not only about the schedule. It is about trust: knowing the person you care about will be welcomed, supported, included, given room to grow, and genuinely enjoy being there.
Who Catching Stars is for
For people who need more than a place to attend.
Catching Stars supports teens and adults with diverse abilities. The right fit starts with a conversation about personality, comfort, interests, support needs, family hopes, meaningful participation, relationships, and what would help the participant feel welcomed.
Families may find us while searching for special needs programs, developmental disability programs, intellectual disability supports, autism-friendly community programs, or programs for teens and adults with diverse abilities in Scarborough and Toronto. Families may also search for special needs programs for adults, social programs for adults with special needs, adult social programs, inclusive adult programs, and support for varying abilities across the GTA. Many families also compare programs for adults with developmental disabilities and programs for adults with intellectual disabilities before choosing the right community fit.
What to expect on a first visit
Every first visit begins with a conversation.
We take time to learn about the person—their interests, personality, communication, comfort, routines, and support needs—and answer any questions they have. If Catching Stars feels like a possible fit, we can arrange a visit or trial and remain in communication as they become comfortable.

Yes. You do not need to have every answer before reaching out. A conversation is enough to begin.
